Anyways, I just got Kingston macram for $90 + shipping (and this was over a year ago, so prices may have dropped). After that ships you should be able to consult the manual for how to install it, but it's not hard. Flip the macbook over to the bottom, there should be this little indention with a circle around it and a picture of a lock by it. Stick a coin in that slot and turn it until it's unlocked (make sure the computer is off of course before you do this).
After unlocking it, the battery should be able to be pulled off. The ram slots should be right there in the battery area. Pull the little lever in both slots and take out the existing ram, then put the new ram in. It takes a bit of effort to get the new ram in, but it's not too bad. Once you hear/feel the click of it locking in, move the levers back down, place the battery back in, and lock it back into place, then restart from there and you should be set. |
Forget $90. There are deals all the time from buy.com, newegg.com, and frys.com that are dirt cheap for 2x2 gb. But like Demoted said, make sure you have a macbook that can take 4 gb (yes if you bought it in the last year or so.)
