Kick ass racked hardware synths under $600?

The rack and Focusrite Pro 40 is on the way....I was wondering if you guys could help me create the biggest list possible for racked hardware synths under $600 (Or around there) - Doesn't have to be new and the interface I'm getting has an AD converter for analog is a go!

If you have time and don't mind, list your "favorites" of these synths and try to describe them as best as you can. Thank you

I'll start off with some......
Mopho
Nord Rack 2x (ebay) *I'm very interested in the NL2X rack)
Blofeld
JP-8080
ALESIS QSR Rack Synthesizer Sound Module MIDI

I have it from a very reliable source that Dave Smith will be announcing a new budget-minded synth as early as next week, which should be hitting the stores in August. Rumor has it that it will be a 4-voice version of the Mopho, so essentially a synth that is half way between the Mopho and the Prophet. Not sure what the price will be, but from what I've heard, I'm guessing it will be in the $500-700 range.

edit: OK, did a little internet searching and apparently the word is already out on Tetr4. Dave Smith had posted it on his twitter, then removed it a day or two later, but I found it at:

http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2...r4-synthesizer/

Apparently, the rumor is that the price will be $800 (presumably retail), so the street price will probably be around $700 ($600 if we're lucky)???

Nice find there. I was going to buy a mopho next month, but I guess I'll save my cash.

Actually it's #Tetr4. Kind of a weird name. Tom Oberheim is re-releasing the SEM. It's an identical copy of its predecessor, down to every circuit. $800 street. It's a mono synth, but I'd rather have that than the similarly priced #Tetr4.

I met Tom Oberheim a couple of weeks ago, he was doing a lecture where I work. Great down to earth fellow with a lot of good anecdotes. He had the SEM there with him as well.

Yeah, those old sample modules can be very useful for getting some more organic sounds. I don't think they're used anywhere near enough any more.

I was thinking about getting a Korg Wavestation SR ... they go nice and cheap and can do some very unique sounds.
