Kysora - Aquatopia (Final Mix)

I'll use this thread as a general introduction, since there's no section for it.. I've been producing music for about 3 years now, under the alias Prospect, however I've recently changed it to Kysora for the sake of originality. My SoundClick won't reflect that for a while, so don't think I'm claiming credit for work that isn't mine when I link to songs uploaded there.

I started for about a year producing downtempo work before discovering the modern uplifting trance scene, which is now my main influence. I use FL Studio 8, and regardless of what most people say, I've found it to be more than capable of replicating the "mainstream" sound with the right tools. Though you might disagree, I don't know.

Either way, the track I'm posting here, Aquatopia, is a song I started 3 years ago. It was the 2nd song I've ever finished, and from that time I've mixed it over 10 times before settling on this final mix. Due to the large number of melodies I've written for this over the years, it's much more layered than your average trance track.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Hey man I took a listen - i REALLY like this melody which comes in after the breakdown, its got that heavenly feel about it. Not sure if its the quality of the player Soundclick uses (this is my first experience with this site) but the song sounds a little rough in some areas, as if the distortion on the synths could be turned down a little but all in all the right FEEL is there, the euphoria, which is the main hallmark of trance. I was a little unsure of the track before the breakdown but it really lifts off after that.

I'd love to have a go at remixing it if you wouldn't mind..? I found the melody inspiring is all PM me if you'd like to send me a remix pack/midi file!

Well, I had to encode it at 160 kpbs instead of my usual 192 kbps to make the upload limit for SC. If you listened to it in hi-fi it shouldn't be too bad, however it could just be production problems on my end. I hope it wasn't too bad

Sure! I'll put one together soon. Thanks!

Hey thought I'd return the favour. I agree on the distortion, the track as a whole has some distortion. I like the meoldy in the track a nice rolling type bassline would be good.

I'm listening as I type here, the piano type melody is nice when it comes in but seems a touch too loud. Agree with other comment the melody after the break is good. Maybe bring that in a bit earlier in the track?

Some nice idea's here, but the mix needs work to fix the distortion and the levels of various parts. Good work.
