I wouldn't.

1st Gen 1000s were a bit buggy and sluggish by today's standards. You're better off finding a good deal on some new 800 mk2s. I bought mine 2 years ago when they first came out for $569 each from AGIProDJ.com here in the US.

i play on 800mk2's every friday and saturday, other than maybe wanting the 0.02% pitch resolution and the hot cues (the 0.05% on the 800's is certainly usable though and i don't use the hot loops), they're not that far from 1000mk3's, especially since i use a lot of mp3 cds

yea thats what i thought, im just gonna go ahead and grab a 800 mk1 for 380cdn. already have one 800mk1, no issues with it, but would love the 02 pitch resolution but can live without.

I guess cdj1000s only worth buying if mk3, but then lowest you would probably get it for is 1000cdn.

Nah man...get the 800mk2s...not the mk1s

Try to buy new if you can...or slighty used, not to old.

Trust me, take time to invest in it, dont rush it. You will be happier in the end.

+1. The 800 mk1s also were known to have problems.

I'd go 800 mk2. I'm tellin' ya, there are deals out there for the same price you were willing to shell out for a 1000 mk1.

been using a used 800mk1 for over a year, no issues; not even once. The only real life broken 800 ive seen was a mk2, the buttons were stuck, which is wierd because i thought that was an upgrade. nevertheless, that could have been an isolated case; and given the experience i have had with the mk1 at this age, i would buy one again.

Don't do it. cdjs have a shelf life. Which is why I'm glad I went vinyl. I don't think I'd ever buy cdjs used unless they're only SLIGHTLY used and it can be proven as such.

From that moment on, I could feel the magik flowing through my veins while listening to the music that Tijs carefully samples and produces. His creativity allows him to develop the concepts of songs that bring life and energy to people around the world.

also, demoted: where are your sources with this "shelf-life". i believe lasers last long longer than you think, i remember having this old ass computer with the cd-rom being super ancient; yet worked fine after all that use.

i realize its for a different application, but i still have more faith than you. perhaps im wrong, but would love additional information to help us all GOD BLEZZ
