Ableton effect routing question

Hi,

I have a track where I want to apply some fx (say reverb). Now I want to modify this fx, and just the fx not the complete signal, with say compression or a gate.
Is this possible with live, and if yes, how?

I've read about signal-routing in the manual but didn't find anything.
The DAW is Live 8.
