The differences between the trance and techno/deep house crowd (in LA at least) always surprises me, I assume because I like all of the above music.
The techno/deep house crowds are predominantly white people, fashionable, late 20s/30s, with a dash of diversity (mostly asians).
The trance crowd is younger, early 20s/30s, much more ethnically diverse (about equal white/hispanic/asian), and decidedly less fashionable.
There are a handful of people like me who go to both types of events, but they are for the most part separate. It's a shame, because there is good music to be found all around. The tech/house people need to get over their elitism about trance being "immature", and the trance people need to get over their "If it's not #trancefamily, I want nothing to do with it" mentality.
