A friend of mine plays the violin. He brought his electric violin along and I tried to hook it up via the Aux in but was having difficulty. I ended up using the MIC input instead but was wondering how you get something to play from the Aux in ports.
I'm not usually stumped by this stuff so was flabbergasted when I couldn't get it to work
Thanks lads,
Steve

xone:92 doesn't have aux in. The aux 1 and 2 one the back are output, not input. You should have plugged it into return 1 or 2 or one of the line inputs (that is, if the violin outputs line level signal).

Hmmm.. Was reading the manual for the last little while there. It's all quite confusing when you don't have an effects unit or something to try the aux send and return function out. Pre and post options etc etc.
My mates violin was plugged into an amp first then we were using a 1/4" TRS jack to hook it up to the mixer.
Anyway i'll mess around with it a little more
Thanks for your reply.

You can use the aux out to connect to the Audio 8 DJ and put effects on that on Traktor and route it out to the mixer again. Now you can use the crossfader as a dry/wet control (not entirely sure if this will work or will the lag fuck it up), you can preview the effect as it's on a separate channel and you can easily choose more than one channel to route to be effected, with the aux knobs. That's how I've hooked up mine and I plan on testing it at some point in my life when I feel like fucking with the effects more. I will have to upgrade to Pro first though (79€), so I really gotta want to use those effects and other features Pro offers that the normal Scratch doesn't.

If anyone has tried this, can he or she let me know what the latency is like?

I'm pretty sure Ryan0751 has tried it. I think I remember him telling me about it in some thread some time ago when i asked about something like that.
