Hustlin’ presents





Hustlin’ was fortunate enough to be a part of a very special time in house music. From the underground vibe of 99 Sudbury St , to the big room Dynachord sound system of Boa Redux, to the early days of Footwork, funky house music was king, and the crowds came out to celebrate it. Hustlin’ was the host to some of the BEST dj’s and producers in the world. Artists like JT Donaldson, Derrick Carter, Justin Long, The Lawnchair Generals, Dave Pezzner and Bob Hanson aka Jacob London, Mike Dixon, J-Dub, Phil Weeks and the Robsoul Records Crew, Bryan Jones, Jason Hodges, Fred Everything, Hector Moralez and John Howard were some of the fantastic artists that Hustlin’ had the pleasure of hosting throughout our tenure in the Toronto underground.

Hustlin’ would also like to thank all the locals/residents that graced the decks at our events and helped push the Hustlin’ and house music sounds to the masses…..

Right, so in the spirit of the event, i'm going to post up a few mixes from around the couple years of Hustlin's peak.

First up is Jacob London's legendary Cherry Beach set.

Some background on this.... this was the first time they'd been to Toronto and had played for us at a ridiculous warehouse party at 99 Sudbury on the Saturday night. Following this, the Promise guys were happy to have them play their beach party on the Sunday. Fuelled with beer, no sleep, and a cavalier attitude to chinstroking, this set is live from the beach and is probably a lil more devil-may-care than their warehouse set, but equally good. Enjoy!

Alright, next set up is Fred Everything live @ our beloved Boa (RIP).
This night featured an all-star cast of djs including Jacob London, Jason Hodges, and Fred upstairs, and a shitload more in the lounge downstairs. Now..... for those of you who've heard Fred before, of course you know he can bring it, but he's primarily known as a deep house dj. With THIS mix and at THIS night, he showed how deep house is done to rock a crowd - a masterful performance:
