My buddy wants to hit up some chinese next month during LE, Duck is what he's looking for, so figured I'd get some opinions.
Thanks!

yeah, clement street is where I'd say go to. It's in the inner richmond district. I used to live on 8th & California, a block from the main clement street stuff. So much great cheap chinese food (including duck) around there.

One thing I miss about SF. Chinese food is a lot cheaper. I am used to paying $6.50-$7.50 for Mongolian Beef. Here, under $10.95 is cheap for it.

If you like Mongolian Beef, Ho's Restaraunt & Bar on Van Ness has THE BEST Mongolian Beef ever. And I have convinced quite a few people of the same! And if you eat in, get the potstickers. They aer amazing when you eat them right after they are cooked.

dave try mogo's mongolian in sherman oaks or little fat sheep in monterey park...booooomb. i believe mogo's lunch is around 6-7 and dinner is all you can eat meat, but i haven't been back in years. la's chinese food is widely regarded as slightly superior to sf's. much of it is centered in monterey park and alhambra though. ironically i never choose to eat chinese in sf cause it's so widely available here in the south bay, but there's this joint next door to this bomb pho spot in the sunset, called san tung, that always has a crowd out the door. i guess their specialty is dry fried chicken wings. i will check out ho's cause i love mongolian bbq myself. om nom nom... btw you should specify what kind of chinese food you're after (ie: mandarin/beijing, cantonese/dim sum, fuijan, hunan, szechwan, shanghai, taiwanese, etc) as there's a huge range of tastes and textures.

Ho's is a Chinese place. I am talking about just Mongolian Beef, not Mongolian BBQ.

Chinese food is a bit diff down here, most def. I found a szechuan place that destroys any I found in SF. So damn good. For the traditional chinese food, I've actually been a little disappointed. Some place's Hot & Sour soup is completely diff down here. It's clear! And is more hot than anything. No real flavor. Other places have decent ones, but I can name like 5-10 places in SF that have better H&S soup than anything I've had hear. I've tried prob 20 different places so far. (I LOVE HOT & SOUR SOUP! - my favorite soup other than my dad's hawaiian chicken soup)

those places off ATlantic Blvd in LA, are pretty good...... in SF, i used to stay off 5th and Geary.....a block off clement.....so i would wake up basically every morning and go eat dimsum, and end the day with crab, theres this place right on the corner of 5th and clement...cant remember the name for the life of me tho.....good spot... its kinda like chinatown, without the tourists
