To any tennis players in these forums, racquet question
I know there are a number of tennis fans here so I am hoping a number of you play. I am currently playing w/ a Wilson K Blade Team (104 sq in headsize) after having played with a Wilson nTour nCode (95 sq in head size). I noticed with my nCode I had good control and spin, but due to my poor footwork and technical flaws in my groundstrokes, I often shanked/framed balls, making me realize I needed a more forgiving racquet.
Enter the K Blade. Love the racquet, improved my control, little less spin which is disappointing but increased consistency is a big plus. I feel my technique is improving and eventually I would like to gravitate back to a smaller headsize. I was wondering if anyone has played with the K Blade 98 or a similar racquet, something more akin to a player/tweener racquet.
Against heavy hitting players I tend to spray or hit shots long. I know part of it is my still deficient swings but I know the larger headsize of the K Blade Team, being a 104 sq in, has a lot of power and since i have a fast and large swing motion, I probably generate too much power.
I will tweak with my tension more but am wondering would it do me much good to switch to a headsize at 98 sq in or should I just wait til I am that much better to switch back to a 95 sq in head size.
A little about my game, I play with a lot of spin, both forehand and backhand, don't find myself at net much, do like to flatten out my groundstrokes on big shots a lot.
