Sounds like it's gonna be really expensive like around $2500 ish? I don't think this will get really popular cause it's not gonna offer that much of an upgrade compared to the CDJ-1000mk3s. Plus I don't think a lot of clubs are gonna be switching the old CDJs to these anytimes soon.
The only cool thing about the CDJ-2000 is the needle search function.

I guess the CDJ900 will be the better alternative if anything just because of price....but yea..the whole link thing, hell if you had 2 USB sticks and the CDJ400, you wouldnt need the link...USB sticks are so cheap too..
and the CDJ 400s are MIDI controllers and audio interfaces as well...if you cant afford a CDJ 2000, best get the 400 cos it's almost the same with just a smaller platter..heh

I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

the link function is pretty cool i must admit, so theoretically you only need 1 usb key on 1 cdj and you can mix 2 songs at the same time from it lol
the 6" screen looks great too
prob costs an arm and a leg tho lol
edit: i was expecting more from that zabiela video tho, in the cdj1000 vid he did way more

.
not going to offer that much of an upgrade from the mk3's? did you watch the videos? lol
but I do agree probably going to be super expensive and i doubt any clubs around this neck of the woods will be buying them anytime soon.

I'm pretty sure clubs will have these once headline dj's start requesting them.. Also for the ease of swtiching between mediums like traktor, serato etc which is a total pain in the ass to do on the fly. We'll see if they catch on with the touring dj's, if they do I'd expect them in clubs soon.
Word from Moog is they'll be around 3k CDN..

with serato, traktor etc, there'll be patches for using the CDJs as midi controllers instead of using a timecode CD (so far CDJ400s work brilliantly like that and are more intuitive than timecode CDs)

Why does that guy keep calling it "ground breaking"?...hardly ground breaking.
They took a platform that is incredibly convenient and made it slightly more convenient.
Color screen to tell me what song I'm playing? I used a $2 color sharpie to label my cd.
"tag" that song and add it to my favourites list? The back page of my $30 cd case does just fine
It's a midi controller? So is the pioneer DJM800 mixer...that also costs less than one cdj2000 cd player.
Needle search?...hold the "search" button and turn the jog wheel. it does almost the same thing.
The USB/SD is a great feature, but hardly worth the $2500+ EACH price tag.
unless I'm missing something, I don't see how this could greatly improve a djs performance.
Companies that make cd players (a platform slowly becoming archaic) need to be creating highly functional, quality players and cheap as possible...cater to the bedroom dj who'll spend $1000 on a pair of decks to mess around with, but I guess pioneer did that with the CDJ 400's.
