The Gallery pres. Anjunabeats - Above & Beyond and Mat Zo [Oct. 2nd 2009]

Freitag, 2. Oktober 2009 um 22:30 - 07:00

Above & Beyond (3 hour set)
Matt Zo

Anjunabeats Volume 7 is the new compilation from Above & Beyond, the UK’s most popular DJs and recently voted Best Group at the International Dance Music Awards, ahead of the likes of Daft Punk, Justice, and Pendulum.

The album showcases the best new music from Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats imprint, widely regarded as the world’s premier trance and progressive house label. In addition, the package includes a bonus DVD featuring the enigmatically titled film “A Dog With A Smile,” an off-the-wall look at life on tour with Above & Beyond.

Through Above & Beyond’s emphasis on forward-thinking established artists and nurturing the hottest new talent, Anjunabeats has cemented a fine reputation as a ‘go-to’ stable for those seeking innovative dance music. At the time of writing, the label, and its Anjunadeep offshoot, have reached an impressive 185 releases. And as the album series hits Volume 7, Anjunabeats’ success is more evident than ever, with an artist roll call that offers up the very best (and the very latest) quality trance and progressive across 2 CDs.

Longstanding Anjunabeats producers such as Oliver Smith, Super8 & Tab, and Jaytech combine with new talent represented by 19 year old Mat Zo and Cold Blue, each with 3 productions apiece. Above & Beyond arguably provide the album’s most anticipated moment, in the shape of new track, ‘Anjunabeach’, an epic piece of emotive electronica that promises to become a peaktime number far beyond the trance genre. Also present is Above & Beyond’s remix of Dirty Vegas ‘Tonight’, created in just 24 hours at Ibiza’s International Music Summit and heavily supported by Pete Tong on Radio 1.

Tony McGuinness from Above & Beyond said:
“In some respects Volume 7 sees Anjunabeats coming into focus. Our tastes have always been catholic and now, with a star-studded roster of incredibly talented artists, we are attracting and releasing a range of top quality records that can fully realise the breadth and ambition of the label. The 2 CD mix covers the full range of what we play as DJs and we're delighted to have so many new standout tracks from our multi-national, multi-talented and multi-lovely Anjunabeats family”.

To help celebrate the launch the trio will be playing a very special 3 hour extended set in the world class surroundings of the Box at Ministry of Sound. Joined by fellow label producers 16 Bit Lolitas who blew The Gallery arena away at this years SW4 as well as 19 year old production sensation Mat Zo and we are primed for a full on Anjunafest a la Gallery.

Over in the Bar we welcome the Anjunadeep imprint to provide a bevy of talent with Jay Lumen headlining proceedings alongside new boys Solarity and label boss James Grant. The warm up is provided by Graeme Lloyd whilst the Baby Box welcomes Incolour and the Loft plays host to WTRC
