Looks awesome but indeed, that's a steep price. I'll eventually grab a pair down the line when it becomes the standard gear at most venues...

dam that thing is awesome. so is the record box like serato or is it just a library?

well I won't be getting it for awhile, hopefully it drops the price of the 1000's though!

That is indeed bas ass. The price is way steep though...and if you get one, you basically need a second to utilize all the featires. Like Vic said, when it becoems club standard, I'll probably end up getting it.

Question though..is the sound quality of an mp3 off a thumb drive as good as an audio cd? I thought that was an issue at one point...

i highly doubt the sound quality of an mp3 off a thumb drive is lesser or better then that of an audio cd.

i mean whenever you put a mp3 on a music disc, the burning software u use whether it be toast, nero or whatever encodes the file into a .cda which makes it playable on all cd players, that doesen't degrade or better the quality of it. same situation if you just burn the mp3 of it as an mp3 data file.

when you burn a mp3 to a thumb drive, the quality of the file should be an exact copy of the mp3 burned to cd.

back to the topic

$2200 is steeeeep..real steep. they need to work out a deal for a pair for like $3000 in the long run and i MIGHT buy into it..but will take some time to save up for.

No sorry you are mistaken. When ever you convert sound from one source to another there is always a loss in sound quality due to sampling rates. It is impossible at the moment to perfectly transcode from mp3 to cd. You are better off just using the mp3 file.

Looks badass, but the question is will this become a club standard?Having to organize your tracks ahead of time means you would need to own it at home as well. Way too pricey. I'll stick with my vci-100 controller and mixer

Eventually, but I don't think it'll happen that quickly. the 2000s are seriously badass & have a looot of potential, but unless they become club standard pretty soon, the 1000s are still less steeply priced, widely used, and not vastly inferior-- the price probably won't drop like a stone.

These look crazy sick but at $2,200 a piece I think it will be awhile before they become industry standard. In times like these I can't see many clubs putting up the money to buy 2-4 of these

Definitely love the whole usb thing and especially the ability to cut loops and hot keys at home.

I think they're on the right track with the screen navigation but I think it would be better with one giant touch screen on the mixer itself instead of the cdjs. A super DJM 800 if you will! :P
