Introduction/Denver Scene - Beta

Hey Denver TA's-

I'm moving from NYC out to Colorado in November and was worried about the trance/techno scene. So back in June when I went to visit CO, I heard about Beta being THE place for trance. I wasn't able to go while I was there but I've been checking their line-ups and can't believe the talent that's been coming through there. The actual city of Denver is small comparatively so I didn't think there would be a big enough scene to support a venue and talent like this...

The reviews of the venue seem all positive too, top-notch light systems/sound system etc. Since TA's tend to be a slightly more critical bunch than your average club-goer I wanted to see if you guys all agree. Are there other venues besides Beta or is that THE place in Denver.

Also, the place looked pretty small from the outside but heard it's deceiving and it's actually huge once you get inside and there's plenty of room.

One other question - does the city have a curfew? Or do the clubs close at like 4/5am?

Thanks!
Matt

lots of talent rolls through denver.
beta is nice, i believe its owned by the same owners as beatport. beatport is based in denver. they have beatport lounge which is a club inside beta. function 1 sound, really nice. have good friends that live up there and i visit often. the clubs close at two and they usually have there headliners dj's on thursday nights at beta.other clubs include vinyl and the church. they have an after hours club called 2am.its within walking distance from vinyl.there is another one called Below, plus there is another one i cant think of. been there a couple of times and it was cool. not sure how it is all the time. you can buy liquor on sundays and if you want beer with the regular alcohol percentage you have to get it at the liquor store. gas stations sell beer with less alcohol in the beer. not sure whats up with that? i plan on moving there in the next couple of years, i love it over there.
