I didn't understand why you put techno in the title since this imo is abstract, drone filled mix.

most of the tracks i put in are pure techno. biosphere, basic channel, vladislav delay, and SETI extended its logic further than any other artists i know. if you listen closely to the structures of these songs, on their own they consist entirely of simple structures that repeat with little internal development - the sounds are what evolve. this is techno for me - musical phrases that are completed only by other phrases, themselves incomplete. |
i wanna start a buncha fights, basically
moritz von oswald is an obvious choise for that list i gave. i wouldnt include him only because his work i usually think of as techno anyway. its when you gotta stretch to recognize it as such that the sound becomes more "techno" than techno.
think about Trance now compared to trance as most of the vets on this forum hold on to. Trance now has supplanted their knowledge of itself, it has become more real than the trance that was in place before. that trance is now barely substantial compared to the saturation that Trance is now.
So, my logic is intentionally double-edged. The cheese-tacularity of Trance is so far gone from original trance, that those of us who know about it have to stretch to admit it qualifies. it means those tracks that are ridiculous good now are way outside of that original trance also (like Planisphere – Hosanna [Whirloop Remix]) are the true trance.
or mebbe im just talking shit
