well his set was absolutely amazing, non stop energy track after track, he was always dancing around with a huge smile on his face. the place went off time after time. i hate a great night. whoever said that he is like the shm couldnt be more wrong. and for the dj that was on before him, bla he maid me want to shoot my self with his depressing tracks, god that was one of the longest hours in my life.

Got in about 10 mins before Laidback Luke came on. Luke started off his set with house but not electro house and had a lot of hip hop influences put in his tracks. After about 15-20 mins he started dropping the electro style sound he's popular for. Really like the way he mixes, spends 2-4 minutes on a track and then transitions to the next track. He also scratched about 4 seperate times in his set. Never thought it was too much and he knew which tracks exactly to scratch to and when in the track.
The Mod Club is a spectacular club, spacious main room (never checked out the upstairs room) and never had to wait long to get a drink. The bar is very long and has enough staff for a filled club. One of the things I can't believe Luke did was play 2 trance tracks, Tiesto - Flight 643 and the other I could not ID.
Overall I'd have to say I would give the night a 9 out of 10. Definitely would go to see Luke again. And btw imo I don't think he played too many bleepity bloopity tracks. At some point throughout his set, I swear some of the beats Luke dropped sounded a lot like hip hop.

after hearing a lot of trance and house deejays mix the same way for so many years (5-10 mins on a track before transitioning) made it unique and fit so well with his style. If I was a dj i would jump from different styles of mixing, sometimes doing long transitions and sometimes doing fast transitions.
ps. Funkycrew sucks

yeah of course I do
I hate this style because he'd throw a few seconds of one track and then another.. mash-up is nooot my style at all
it's def a new development in his sets, and unfortunatelly until he moves on, I won't be enjoying or attending his gigs :\

I'm sure he's done it in the past before, he is heavily influenced by hip hop so that is how a lot of hip hop dj's spin most of the time. He's experimenting and i like that
ps. Funkycrew is not funky at all

ok if you think he sucks, invite me to a event where the dj is "cool" in your books, then we'll talk and make comparisons
