DSI Tetra

Anyone tried one? It seems like quite good value and flexible. Not sure about the sound capabilities, the demos didn't really show off much.

Looks nice. I believe cryophonik has one. I personally couldn't throw that kind of money down for just 4 voices but that is 100% personal preference. Some people would mortgage their homes for just a 1 voice synth so it's all about what you're after and taste. I have no doubt it's good at what it does if you're looking for a strong analog machine. I havn't heard anyone say anything about it except when trying to compare it to the Prophet, which seems somewhat silly because they are two different instruments (Although very similar, but still different) in two different price ranges.

If I was to personally buy a DSI product I would hunt down a Prophet Rack because I've gotta have more voices, but even 8 wouldn't please me. I'm barely satisfied with the 24 voices my Radias VA has and I have no interest in learning voice stealing and work arounds.

No, I have a Prophet '08 and I recently sold my Mopho, PER, and MEK. The Tetra looks decent, but not something that interests me all that much.

I got a killer deal on another P08 ($800 - like new!) so I sold the PER & MEK to cover the cost and make room for the P08. I'm planning on eventually buying a PEK (probably early next year).

TETRA's great, I bought it and love it. Phat beautiful sounds, better knobs then MoPho, combo mode is cool. Once you get the software editor working along with your DAW you're golden (using Midi Yoke).

^^^yeah, what AveryParker said.

Does anyone know if there are plans for Soundtower to develop a VST version of the Tetra software editor? DSI announced late last year that Soundtower would be releasing a VST version of the Mopho editor in Q1 of this year (it's still on their website AFAIK), but it never materialized. That would make the Mopho/Tetra a MUCH bigger bargain IMO (would be nice if they would make one for the P08 as well).
