I just moved to downtown long beach and was wondering if anyone could recommend some great alternative or "artsy" places in Long beach? Please no v2o I dont mind going to La...so LA recommendations as well

Do many big name Djs come to LB? What are the good clubs in LA?

what do you mean by alternative artsy places in long beach? ive been living here for about a year or so...no dj's come to LB..i usually go to LA or OC to party...Vanguard (Saturdays), Circus (Saturdays), Avalon, Playhouse are some places that play electronica...uhm, for OC i go to Code (Thursdays)..if you're 21+ check out SvD on oct 22nd...there's also monster massive 10/31...check out giantclub.com for all the latest info

Maybe Heat Ultra Lounge O.C is the closest, sometimes, ATB just passed by
O.C got some nice hangout but closes earlier. Code, Red, Flight,...CL, dj dan, Aruna, Morgan Paige, Jaren & Matt Cerf....etc

Well by "artsy" or alternative I didnt mean so much edm clubs, but places to hang out with a more artistic or "intellectual" crowd. I heard about the arts district in LB...any good places there?

I am attempting to understand what your definition of "intellectual" is. Whenever i am in L.A., i hang out with noting but intellects. Artistic does not equal intelligence. An artist can be intelligent.

i still dont know what ure talking about, obviously im not into that crowd. but check out 2nd street, belmont shore, tons of stuff to do there..or if ure into coffee houses check out portfolio. use yelp.com!
