He will if he's a respected regular. But coming out of nowhere, nobody knowing who he is, why should people support him? Just because he spams a forum, and the other contestants don't? I'd be inclined to vote for someone else just on principle.

I've had to resort to adding a filter to my e-mail clients to automatically delete anything with the words "vote" and "me".

I always thought the point of these contests was to see how good you could do based on how good your remix/track/whatever is, not based on how many people you could beg to vote for you.

why do you think Beatport does these contests ?
To find good music ? They do it to promote the website. People have to vote which means people have to log in which means they have a new influx of users. These people are basically telemarketers except they don't get paid.
