Where did it all start for you?
In front of my dads newly built hi-fi system

Where did the name come from?
Well, my second name begins with G and after with the whole rave thing in the 80's and 'E' it kinda went together._

What gave you the initial push?
Even though I'd been DJing on Pirate Radio and small clubs, the real luck came when I started to review music in an old rave magazine called Eternity in the early 90's. That got me a gig at Helter Skelter and the rest just followed on from there._

Who would you say was putting on the best events at the moment?
Uprising of course!

Which other countries have you played?
I honestly cant think of many I havent played. 25 years in the game and you rack up alot of travelling

What was the first event you ever played?
It was a wedding around about 1982. I dropped Kraftwerk and cleared the dancefloor. Get in!

What’s the best event you’ve ever played?
Way too many to single out one. The word 'best' can mean so many things.

What was your first record you bought?
Rod Stewart's 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy'. Killer tune._

Out of all the tunes you have, which one does the business every time?
You simply cant answer that, cause music moves so fast. What rocks the house one month, is old and irrelevant the next. The key is to keep your music fresh and current._

What's your favourite tune of all time, the ultimate classic?
When you have 50000 records in your house, that's a hard question. But from a personal point of view I will say Cybotron 'Clear'._

And when all the partying is over, how do you like to relax?
I don't relax. Life's to short to sit about fiddling with yourself._

How is the scene in your eyes at the moment?
Amazing. Just a good as it has always been, if not better._

How big is your vinyl collection?_ What is your opinion on CDJ's? (the pros & cons)

Two rooms full of the mofos. About 50,000, probably more. I love CDJ's, I love Technics. What matters to me is the music, not the format it's played on._

The funniest thing that ever happened at an event?

Funny? I'm literally in tears every weekend. People take life to seriously. I love making people laugh when I play, breaking the mould and doing things you just cant normally do._

Other DJs you rate?
DJ's who dont take themselves too seriously and live for the music they play, not the ego._

Who is/are your biggest musical influences in the world of music & why?
Any producer who works hard and their art and tries to advance the music. Way to many to mention here._

What are your feelings on the MC's?
I love them. But they have to know musical timing and understand the importance of silence. I'll even grab a mic myself if I get the chance!

What do you do outside of the dance music scene?
Nothing.

What advice would you give to up and coming DJs/Mc's/Promoters?
Believe in what you do. Make the music your focus, not the fame._

If you could stage an event anywhere, where would you choose?
At my funeral. That's gonna be one hell of a party!

How do you see the scene 5 years from now?
Even better than it is now._

If you had a time machine what year would you go back to and why?
Forget going back. It's the future for me baby. See you in 2020!
