Most DJ's are basically just jukeboxes with taste. You generally go "see" a dj because you hope he will play tracks you like with good programming and serviceable mixing. That's it.
Everything else you get out of the evening comes from the other aspects of the party - the venue (sound, space, etc), the crowd, and whatever substances you've ingested at the time.
