Cheating

you know i was thinking the other night about cheating...i was having a random psychotic moment in my mind asking myself if i would ever cheat on my bf...like trying to picture me doing the actual act, and the thought of it made me sick. i was like, "oh HELL no i couldn't cheat on him".

but i've cheated before.

i mean a lot of people are convinced that once u cheat, u just always cheat, but i'm living proof that it's not true. cheating comes along with insecurity and selfishness. and if you are 110% confident in yourself and your relationship and you are 110% in love, then you are selfless & confident, thus, making you not a candidate to cheat. i've grown up a lot mentally and emotionally too over the past few years and i think the more you mature, the less you are likely to cheat too.

i admire people who have never cheated in their life and are very true to their word when they say they never would. however, i'm the type who has has gotten caught up in a moment (usually drugs and/or alcohol were involved) and cheated...but only in the relationships i was miserable in. i have cheated 3 times. once in a long distance relationship. once out of spite because he treated me like shit and i was miserable and i justified it. and then another time i just wasn't happy and was probably trying to sabotage the whole relationship. i've been faithful too though and i like being faithful. i'm not a piece of shit. i am a great girlfriend when i'm in love and happy, but i've also been a shitty girlfriend too. just depends on the relationship i guess and where i was at in my life at the time.

basically what i'm saying is that i think cheating is totally circumstantial. agree or disagree?

Disagree. "Circumstances" are just ways of justifying it...and it's total bullshit, imo. You don't have to love someone to still be respectful of their feelings. I mean, if you're really going to be honest about "why" you cheated, you should just cut the bullshit and say "I have/had little to no respect for this person."

However, I do think cheating is a totally forgivable act. Mwahhhhhhh.

Absofuckinlutely.

In fact sometimes I think cheating is a good thing. Sometimes people in shit relationships do it and it helps make it apparent the the relationship sucks to begin with.

The less you feel loved/respected/appreciated the more reasons and reasoning to cheat will start stacking up.

See, I think that's such a coward's way out. Just be the big fucking person and leave the relationship.

well yea, i wasn't saying "oh i loved the person i cheated on". if anything, i was saying the opposite. lol i cheated in relationships i was miserable in and with guys i didn't respect or love any more i guess.

i'm just trying to prove the theory "once a cheater always a chater" wrong.

yea but what if you're going back and forth with confusion. like "oh im happy, he's really great" and then you're like, "ughh, i dunno if he's good for me".

then u have a girls night out and get wasted and totally make out with some guy in the parking lot (that's cheating to me, im not just talking about sex) and then you're all guilty the next day and you realize you must not be THAT into him if u let that happen and u end the relationship.

Were the guys still really into you? Did you just totally shaft them by being a cheating bitch for your own reasons?

Or was there that unspoken mutual indifference towards each other and that's what set it off?

I'm pretty black and white about my feelings. I wouldn't need a drunken night out to know I wasn't that into a guy. And no matter how much I'm not into a person, I still have respect for them outside of whatever's going on in our relationship. It's just not a cool thing to do, regardless of what's going on.
