Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me get my vocals to sound like the guy from "owl city". I'm trying to figure it out and can't quite get it... I don't think it's perfect pitch or a vocoder I'm pretty sure it's something different

What's so special about those vocals? Dude sounds just like Ben Gibbard.

Funny you mention Owl City. Until earlier today I had never heard of the guy that wrote the album or the album itself but I got the new issue of Electronic Musician and it has a whole article on this guy and this album. Although I haven't heard the album yet, I was surprised to read in the article that it was created entirely using Reason and Goldwave.

yea it seems you are correct sir , just some vocoder mix

It's definitely not a vocoder. It's a pitch-shifter (like cryo said) with reduced vocal modulation, so they probably used Melodyne for this.

I've got the acapella for Hello Seattle and to me it definitely sounds like a vocoder lightly with some of the pitch shifting as mentioned in the previous post.
