Question Mix Recording Software for PC..... what do you guys use?

so i've recorded a couple of mixes with "Magix audio cleaning lab" and it works fine with traktor the only thing that sucks is that when i do record i have to turn my master volume to 1-2 in order for the audio to not be distorted.....

im looking for a similar program that i can use at home and on the road without spending too much money

what do you guys use?

did you ever tried to record with traktor?
you can convert the wave file into mp3 with any free software
or just use the lamemp3 codec convertion via cli.

Obligatory mention of Audacity.

But seriously, it is free and will do just fine for simple recording.

Also make sure you've got a proper sound card and definitely don't try to record line level signals with a mic input.

Personally I use Sound Studio (on OS X) as it's simple and works very well and I got it for cheap. I got fed up with Audacity's bugginess.
