Now this may seem bit of a random question and I know there will be no exact date but here are the reasons behind me asking it.
I’m open minded when it comes to edm and music in general but my real love is trance from the late 90s and especially 1999.
Arguably trance music and dance music in general has moved on leaps and bounds with regards to production quality since that time and generally speaking from a personal perspective I feel most productions these days have a more polished sound to them (Lets not start that debate again).
This is no bad thing but I strive to produce trance tracks that have an authentic 1999 feel to them eg slightly weaker kicks, more space in the mix and less going on in general but focused around distinctive and individual melodies.
I have a few sample cds from vengeance, which are good but are defiantly geared towards a more modern sound.
The best sample cd I’ve come across so far for my needs is Techno Trace Essentials by ueberschall which I purchased back in 2003 (Unaware of original release date and it does not appear to be noted in the inlay) but anything older than this appears to be in the audio format and I can’t be arsed to convert the samples to wav.
If you know of any older trance / dance orientated sample cds in wav format released in 1999 or there about’s or a has an oldskool feel please reply.
I’m also looking to buy some of the hardware which was about back then but that’s a different topic I’ll start another time.

The synths are way better sounding than my Korg Ms2000, much fuller, i use the Korg for Midi control and its alot quicker and easier that way, the Drum sounds are fantastic, theres not a single thing i dont like about this unit soundwise, thats not to say its without fault, it has alot of draw backs, But coming from reason for a few years this was a breath of life to my music! its just got the pro full and sometimes warm sound that reason just cannot replicate, i Love it, nice effects too. I make Christian Trance music, 1999 style!  would recomend as part of a setup, if you wonna use the sequencer( which i also love! )its spot on in most cases when your making patterns, but when you wonna string patterns together for a song, if u got a busy mix going on, it gets out of time when changing between patterns. There is a bit of noise yes, but it's not too high, and if you ask me, it adds to its character and gives it a denser sound! Still better than reason for its sound quality! Peace be with you!
