The night started off bad when I got my cell phone bill and found out it was about $300. Damn long distance calls. I didn't think it would add up so fast.
Anyway, I get to Avalon (thanks for the ride Woody), and everyone is giving me drinks left and right, so I get too drunk tooooo fast off sipping from everyone's drink.... then I start giving everyone attitude and being a bitch, because I'm in a bad mood from my cell phone bill and other family things. (i'm really sorry guys, u know who u are).
Victor, (who I didn't know it was him untill a couple hours after his set), was pretty damn good! He played all these songs I recognized, thanks to all the cd's that Mike gave me & Anna, and all the times we heard him playing live on his radio show.
Then, Ferry goes on, and I didn't enjoy his set. I just couldn't get into it. I remember 3 years ago, how much I lovedddd Ferry's music, but I'm honestly over melodic trance, or whatever u call it that he plays. He's a very nice person though. The crowd looked like they were having a blast. I enjoyed Victor's set ALOT better.
I can't wait untill NEXT week to dance to some sick beats. *sTeVe lAwLeR*

fuck i can relate to the expensive cell phone bills. my last 3 months have been over 300 bux. ive got a family share plan...i pay for my mom's and brother's phones too cuz im a baller like that and lately ive been making us go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over our minutes. LOL. but thatsd all gonna change now.
anyways, i just crawled out of bed for a bit to write a better review. i got put on the discount guestlist at the very last second yesterday before taking off to LA. Just before taking off, my friends that I originally planned to go with bailed on me. That f'n sucked. But That wasnt going to stop me from going. I talked to my homie Rene (aka Lomeli on TA) and convinced him to meet me at Avalon because his chances of getting in are very high. [You can read Lomeli's account of how this all went down in his review. ] So I embarked on my solo journey from Santa Barbara to LA around 6pm. I arrived in LA a little after 730pm and found an $8 parking lot off of Hollywood and Argyle. I then walked up the street to get some pizza. I walked back to my car and ate and called some people up.
I met up with Lomeli and his friend David, Kfrogger (Simon) and Arfboy (Randy). We were kicking it in front of Avalon by ourselves and then little by little more and more people began to show up. On groovetickets it said the club was opening at 9pm but we found out that doors weren't opening until 10pm. We waited in line for quite a while I must say. Finally got inside the club and hit up the dancefloor where Victor Dinaire was tearing it up!
Victor had in incredible set. Me, Clovis, and Tigo were going bonkers over it. He started off with some really dark prog and worked his way up to some harder trance and then dropped it back down a few notches just before Ferry came on. This was probably the best I have heard from Victor and believe it or not I felt that he gave Ferry Corsten a run for his money in terms of set quality.
The whole night I had been hypnotised by that damn L.E.F sign and growed to hate it. Haha. I was posted up in the front of the DJ booth...but it was built way too tall and could barely see Ferry over it. Ferry threw it down but I just felt something was missing....
What was the theme of the party? Loud Electronic Ferocious? I think the only thing present last night during his set was 'Electronic'. I felt that the sound system was a little low so we couldn't have 'Loud'. And despite starting off harder than usual right off the bat, I guess that was all the 'Ferocious' we were gonna get. But hold on right there, Ferry came on at 1am and was supposed to stop at 5am. We were treated to a special gift from Ferry and to us hardcore fans. Let's call it a ONE HOUR+ encore!!!!! Ok so there was a glimmer of hope and maybe this was part of the 'Ferocious' thing. Ferry would just not stop playing! The sound system got cut off shortly after 5am and Ferry kept rocking out to his monitors, not knowing that the club's sound system had been killed off. Ferry continued playing nonetheless and even turned the monitors to face towards the crowd! This was one of the most ultimate things ever! LOL. Finally after a song or 2 where the entire dance floor was dancing to the sound coming out of the monitors...the sound system came back on when he dropped Gouryella - Gouryella. This song destroyed the dance floor. It was this last "encore" hour that made the night for me. It deminded me of why Ferry is one of my favorite DJ's.
some songs I remember he played (in no particular order):
Ferry Corsten - Cubikated
Airbiscuit - Lately (Riley & Durant Remix)
FB ft. Edun - Whos knocking? (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Fischerspooner - Never win (Benny Benassi Remix)
Ferry Corsten - Its time (Flashover mix)
Ferry Corsten - Sublime (THrillseekers Remix)
Ferry Corsten - Punk
Ferry Corsten - I love you
Gouryella - Gouryella
William Orbit - Adagio for Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Ferry Corsten - Rock your body rock
Dogzilla - Without you
Recluse - Emotional Void <---i think Ferry played it, maybe Victor
Ferry Corsten - Fire
Ferry Corsten - Galaxia
DJ Tiesto - UR (Junkie XL Remix)
BT feat. JC Chasez - The Force Of Gravity (Ferry Corsten Remake)
Kuffdam and Plant - Summer Dream (Stoneface and Terminal)
thats all I remember for now. It sounded like the usual stuff he plays. Stuff from his Creamfields and Passport:Kingdom of the Netherlands cd's and also his latest productions. Man Cubikated is wicked. I wish he had dropped Marc Marberg - Guarana. That song is choon and 'ferocious'. OK well I am going back to bed for another couple of hours.
I was proud of myself for not drinking at all last night.
The drive back home was rough. Left the club like at 630am and made it home just before 8am. I was falling asleep at the wheel and when I would wake up i would see that I was going over 100mph! F'n crazy shit. Thank GOD I made it home safely. I dont know how I made it back in one piece. I barely remember any of the drive. Fuck! Good thing I didn't drink at all! LOL.
It was fun partying with Kfrogger, Arfboy, Miss Julia, Lomeli, Refuge_01, Aaron and Rocky, Noree, Clovis, GPC and his g/f, Adriana and her b/f Matt, Neinerlove, Positive Logic and his g/f, Sweet Candy Girl, DJ Woody, Karenluvs2party, Gypsygirl, and everyone else I saw. I saw so many damn TA's representin!
