This looks very promising, indeed.

edit:
So, your transitions are excellent! The flow very well done and overall a nice mix! BUT (there always is a "but"... ) why do you play it so damn slow? Comon... give +3% pitch and we're talking. This way it's much too progressive and far from being uplifting. I mean: You had to pitch down "Children of the Sun"...that one is a burner pitched up, not down...

Otherwise it's a really good set.

You're right though I could have bumped the bpms up a bit for the 2nd half and given it bit more energy. I'll definitely keep this in mind for next time.
I was happy with this mix though and didn't want the bpms to increase too dramatically considering the tracks range from 125-140 bpm which is a bit too much of an increase for an hour and half set imo. So I had pitched the first few tracks right up and some of the later tunes right down to keep the flow.
BUT! I will also say that it's not really the tempo that makes music uplifting, more the melodies i think which I think are uplifting here for most the part but I'll let others decide that for themselves. Thanks for giving it a listen and for your feedback.

Certainly, the melodies are important for the feeling, but without the right speed, nobody will fall into trance. Btw. do you have some personal maximum pitch? I mean, is there a limit of how much you pitch up a track?
I have two or three tracks that I like to pitch up by +8-10% and they sound especially nice then. Just try it... Also I avoid pitching down as much as possible, which is my personal rule.

125 to 140 is easy to do in an hour and a half and will add a lot of good flow to it!

Well I really don't place any rules on my playing, it's just a combination of personal preference and track selection. I used to pitch all my tunes well up to +6-8% but got out of that habit because it can kind of limit where you can go with a set and also doesn't work well for me with other genres I play. I do think I should have increased the tempo a bit more for the 2nd half now though.

Each to their own. I'm not saying it's hard to do, it's certainly doable, I just feel that a tempo increase like that will sound better over 2+ hours than in an hour to an hour and a half.

I agree with you on that.

Ok, besides that stuff about the speed your mix is definately better than what most of the "Pro's" offer nowadays!

Definitely agree with that one, and personally I thought the mix was really well programmed Would have liked a little bit more speed at the end, again that's just personal, but it definitely worked well and the mixing and track selection was great.

[Also, I'm a bit liberal with my tempo increases haha]

Thanks a lot for the kind words guys. Really inspires me hear stuff like that.
Also Lews I just remembered that I did a psy trance mix earlier in the year for Meat187's genre challenge, where I did increase the bpm's a lot from 135bpm prog psy into more full on stuff around 150 at the end and it worked rather well, so perhaps I should try that more often.
A lot of the deep house/tech I play I don't like pitching up too much usually keeping close to the tempo the tune was produced at but I do find that pitching tunes up works well with trance a lot of the time.
Just about to put on your trance mix too btw.
