sm44 - New Beginnings (Trance)

Hey guys,

Had a bit of a break from these boards, but been in the studio working on this trance track.

Its very much Sander Van Doorn influenced but has influences from techno, progressive, melodic trance and electro.

Any feedback, good or bad much welcome.

Was thinking of having a stab at a few labels with it.

Will try to return feedback/criticism on other peoples tracks who leave feedback.

Sorry it took me so long, a lot of things is going on right now.

As far as your track, it is a good start for me, a lot of elements which I really enjoyed. Basic rhythm is there already with good drums and bass line (damn it, this is really deep and thick bass man). Structurally you layout this song well with some good FX swiping through your melody.

What I'm missing is the Woooowwww factor which would want me to listen your song one more, and more, and m.... . Maybe just add good sounding arp will create this effect???

Great work so far man, keep the music coming.

Cheers from Seattle.

that melodic part from 1:50 to 3:50 should have some nice beating that would make it full trance experience

i enjoyed it , but i think you should improve bass and rhythm

great work

Your tech elements are great... Bass line and Beat patterns are spot on.

The melody in the breakdown does nothing for me though. It feels out of place and lost in the energy of the track. This is especially the case with it around 2:40 seconds. The pad melody works well but the lead just ruins it and creates a sense of discord for me.

The builds and breaks in the breakdown are shaped well, as are the FX. The pad melody works in the back half.

The track needs a banging lead in my opinion. The current lead is just lost in it all. You've got a ton of energy and this mellow lead that's key shifting constantly.

Also, I'm going to point out something in the mix down. The 5:45 to 6:45 is a wash of too much sound imo.

I know I was a bit harsh in some people's view but I'll point out two things for ya: 1) I'm trying to be honest and constructive, and 2) I took enough time to respond so I feel like the track has tons of potential.

Best of luck. Keep it up and keep me informed.

I like the tune overall though IMHO there were two things that stuck out. The structure of it seemed a little frantic. It would be a tough tune to mix unless you knew it really well and let's face it, we all go through so much music that it's tough to learn every little dip and rise of our records. I would have liked to hear a little more dynamic range as well. Last comment is at about 5 when the sidechained pad comes back in the mix seems really flooded. I lost sight of what I would be dancing or listening to personally. Hope this feedback helps.

Cheers.
