"Kenneth Thomas is without doubt one of the most promising young DJs in the electronic scene right now. There's an intelligence and a well defined style to his sets. He's quickly emerging as one to watch in the next generation of superstar DJs". When Paul Oakenfold has this to say about someone people can tend to stop and take a listen. Following in an elite class consisting of Dave Ralph, D:Fuse & Hernan Cattaneo, its seems every 5 years or so Oakenfold hand picks a future star to take under his wing and the latest selection is Kenneth Thomas.
Hailing out of the Detroit, the birthplace of Techno, KT stands out with his emotional and melodic sound. The same aggression that spawned the early techno sounds of the 90's is the fuel that fires Kenneth to explore the emotional side of the musical experience. Music has always been a spiritual place for Kenneth and because the depth of dance music goes well beyond a conscious level, there's an underlying exploration and experience in every set and track.
Beyond traveling the globe, Kenneth has also become a juggernaut in the studio over the past 5 years having completed over 50 tracks and remixes for labels including Perfecto, Hope, Armada, Om, Cuurve, Alter Ego, Pacha and more. Now, busy working on his debut artist album forthcoming in late 2009 as well as recent remixes for David Guetta, Jan Johnston, Oliver Moldan, Jeff Mills and even Scott Wieland, we have seen this 'Dj at heart' break new ground in the areas of production. Also on the plate, beyond DJing and producing, KT is A&R for Oakenfolds' Perfecto Records, helping spearhead the renaissance of one of the greatest labels dance music has ever seen.
The future is bright for Kenneth. Touring regularly around the world sharing his blend of progressive minded dance music, his focus has never changed since day one, "This is the most amazing sound I have ever encountered, I just want to share it with as many people as possible"

Wow...I remember the first time Kenneth came and played in Toronto at the old System Soundbar - side room...he destroyed it. Had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife when they were here and they are amazing people.....Great dj too. Im not much for trance but for those of you who haven't had the chance to catch him live....i reccommend it. Also saw him when he opened for PVD in Cleavland a few years back.

Wait you were there? fuck that was one hell of a party and Signum and KT destroyed VIVA!!!!!!
hehe... I take it this thread originally had me billed as "Kenneth Lawler"? Cute. Probably just a freudian slip by the promoters as they have Steve Lawler the next night.
But yea, I am very excited to make my way back to Toronto. I have had many many great shows there over the years but its been near two years since my last visit and I feel very overdue! Please come with an open mind and expect a proper journey through many different sounds
As for the venue, I apparently see there is a little hesitation about the room from a few here on TA? I really can't attest to that as I don't know much about the current politics in TO but maybe this is the show to give Circa another shot?
I hope to see many of my old familiar Toronto friends and make a ton more!
I'll drop by here again in a few days with a current promo mix to help warm things up for New Years.
Cheers! Hope to see you there!
Oh, ps, to answer your questions V-Vaughn, I am usually pigeon holed as "trance" but in a normal set you will hear swingy tech-house, melodic house, big room progressive and yes a little trance peppered in here and there. Check out the mix i'll post here next week or feel free to download a radio show at www.obsessionspodcast.com. Hope you can make it
