Hey I actually thought this was going to be the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, which is adapted from the Avatar cartoon series. This looks promising with the epic scenery and special effects but the blue smurf characters look really cheesy.
The plots been beaten to death by many movies over the years. I still think previous films have told the story much better as well.
It's still fun in some ways and visually incredible but I can't believe this is the close to being the 2nd highest grossing films of all time.
Style seems to always win over substance these days
Wow, that's incredible, I had to double-check on a few different news sources to be sure. Avatar became the second highest grossing film of all time after just 20 days. So Mr. Cameron can proudly claim to be the director of both the #1 and #2 highest grossing films of all time, yikes.
i saw it twice on imax 3d. the first time i was nice and baked off some cookies but we sat in the top corner and the 3d was kind of awkward from that angle, not to mention we were cut off from the rear surround speakers. the second time i went cause i had a free pass and we smoked a couple blue dream blunts. that time we were centered, but i passed out half way into it from all the ganj and the fact that i had already seen it. my friends got a kick out of me twitching back to consciousness though

plot reminded me of "Dances with Wolves". Is that weird?
Disgruntled Americano boy (with no legs), goes off and joins the injuns. Fucks one and fights the rednecks.
That or Last Samurai??
However, I LOVED the movie. Gonna go watch it in 3-D next time.

it looks like some videogames mashed together.
Halo, Final Fantasay XIII, Mass Effect, and Uncharted.
Well marketed film. The name Avatar is basically what characters in a video game worlds are called, heck images on forums are called Avatars too. Might check it out nevertheless, I like the world and character designs.
