I'm pretty happy with this one. I've been wanting to use tracks 10,11 and 13 in a mix for a long time now and it was great to be finally able to do that.

Waterfront is from a 2003 album and I'd only ever heard it on a mix DVD. This year I decided I wanted to have it, so I had to email the artist, drive to his house and pick up one of the few copies of the album he had left. It was definitely worth it though. Great track and a good ending to the mix I think.

Overall, this starts pretty sedately (around 126 BPM), but I tried to make it really peak towards the end. I hope some of you enjoy it.

I've got a stack of things to listen to and review right now, so I'm not promising a quick response, but I've downloaded all your mixes since 12 Hours and I'll make no exception here.

One thing I will say is that you rely quite heavily on a few artists. Dousk, Jaia, Fitalic and FREq in particular.

I know.

I do try with every set to work unique stuff in. It's not laziness that makes me use the same artists over and over - it's just that I struggle to find artists who come anywhere close to equalling the work of those you mentioned.

If I ever get round to mixing techno or traditional house again, you would find a wider range of artists present in those kind of sets.

Really enjoyed this one. 12 Hours was always my favourite of your mixes, and although the subsequent ones have been solid, they never felt as satisfying. This one really hit the spot. I especially liked the first few tracks, and the way you eased into the set, but the main section of the mix was great stuff too, and I liked how you brought it down to a smooth close. Nice flow and mixing from start to finish.

The only bit I didn't like was the horribly cheesy spoken sample on the Liquid Soul track.

It reminds me of some of my clubbing nights in the UK, circa 2000, 2001. That nice, driving prog sound.

The mixing was awesome, as usual. The flow was WICKED. Such a good build up through the mix, without any style glitches between tracks to mess with the energy.

So I must say, this set is really good, lots of mint stuff here. The first few tracks were good to build up, but I really wasn't a fan of the third track for some reason. It just didn't get me going. After the fifth track, you started building up your energy and the music starts to make you move and dance. The flow is spot on, no mistakes there. I can tell that not all of this was mixed harmonically, but by no means is that a bad thing, your mixing style just gets me used to flawless key-appropriate transitions.

I loved the set progression, at first I was expecting a lot of drum loops and no melodies, riffs, or basslines at all. The bassline that hopped out in the 2nd track kinda took me aback, I wasn't expecting it, then it dropped off for a little while. As the set continued, the bassline picked up, and that's the kind of energy progression I love. To be honest, I really didn't like the last track, I felt like you could have finished stronger, but to each his own. I enjoyed this more than any other house set that I've ever heard, and I will keep my eyes out for more!

That's funny that you say that; because I find this set a bit unsatisfying. While I felt my others have had a conclusive end, I almost regret that I didn't make this a two or three hour mix. To me, the final track feels like a potential bridge into a second hour of trancier, faster music. Glad you enjoyed it though; I'm happy with it.

Cheers mate. More clubs need to play the banging yet deep-ish progressive sound, I know!

Thanks for the length review. All of this was mixed harmonically, at least to my ears. You may have felt the mixing was weaker than previous efforts because I went for far longer and more gradual transitions than usual, which potentially gives elements more time to clash.

This wasn't really a house set, by the way. That tag was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Tracks 8-13 would probably be considered trance, especially since they were at around 135 BPM, which is unusual for house.

On the last track, I think you will find this is 'real' psy-trance in the traditional sense, as opposed to Goa, full-on or progressive. It would perhaps be worth investigating more tracks to see if there's anything you like.
