The list of winners of Mixmag's DJ of the Year award mostly testifies to the enduring global appeal of stadium trance, except for in 2006 when the DJ in charge of indie's most exciting club night took the accolade. Despite all of the above being amongst the most in-demand DJs in the world, there's very little common ground between them.
