Well Ableton is prob one of the easiest sequencers out there to use, but if you are new to producing in general, you can't skip the boring tutorial phase, you really shouldn't just go "experiment" yet at this point, considering you most likely don't know what anything does so it would be a waste of time.
You need to get the idea of making music out of your head for a week or 2. You can try in between tutorials (like when you learn something new go test it out a few times to make sure its in your head for good). But you absolutely need to just watch one slow boring tut after another till it all begins to sink in.
And honestly, 1-2 weeks is a LOONGG time. It really depends on how many hours you put in. I'd say if you sit down for around 40-50 hours, and just watch one tut after another, copying what the tuts say, you will be good enough to get to the "experimenting" point. Once you reach that point, you'll begin to learn at a much faster rate. Don't give up, just expect it to be boring for a bit. If you go "experiment" at this point you are absolutely bound to give up over frustration because not only are you not familiar with the program, you're not familiar with production in general (which is more important imo).
And don't be intimidated, its not like learning to program Ctt or anything. Even by just learning a little bit, you can still do some pretty awesome stuff like make a trance track. And overtime you will learn all the neat little tips and tricks to make your music actually sound clean and balanced.
Good luck! And remember Abletons a GREAT starting point so at least you chose a good program to start with!!
edit: Also, I usually don't do this, but if you need a quick brief on aim I can help you get started (sometimes its easier when you have someone live to answer questions). But remember I DON'T use Ableton, so anything elaborate I won't know. But def enough to get a track started.
