Using Traktor Scratch Pro with Echo Indigo DJ

Im having trouble getting getting music to play using echo soundcard.

It is installed properly and has been selected from all the menus.

Any ideas on how to set it up properly going to an external mixer?

Thanks in advance

I bought an Echo Indigo DJ. I threw it away almost a day after I bought it, it was a piece of shit. Sound simply would not play from it, I installed all the drivers, and set it up like it was supposed to be in Traktor. It was really flimsy and looked like it could snap if you dropped it. If you're looking for a relatively solid, cheap external soundcard, try the Numark DJ Io. http://www.numark.com/djio

Thanks for the reply mate.

I have it working perfectly with Ableton which is the annoying thing!!

I also have M-Audio torq which I was wanting to sell. Maybe using the audio interface for that would be the easier option.

You can try using ADIO4all (or one of the other free ASIO drivers). Install it, then set it as your audio device in the Traktor config. You'll also need to reconfigure your output routing.

You have to set the audio routing in Traktor- it should show up as an ASIO device with something like 8 channels. Assign each deck to a different pair.

Next, open up the Echo mixer. You'll notice that there are two outputs which are different buttons along one of the sides (don't have mine handy to check). This toggles between the two outputs (line and headphone), and you must set the levels of each channel pair and mute/unmute which ones you want going to each output.

I would play something in Traktor to have the vu meters show which channel has a signal and adjust accordingly.

Keep in mind that if a virtual output (eg. 3/4) is being used by another application, it won't be available until you close it.

If you want to use internal mixing mode, then simply route the master output to the line out and the cue to the headphones.

actually i have to support woscar on this one, at least as long as you wanna go for the scratch features (that's timecode control). won't work with any other interface than the audio 4 or 8 dj or a scratch certified mixer...
