So i got accused of stealing or something and suspended from work?

Hey wondered if anyones had a similar experience.

Not gonna give a long winded thing so the c0r version is

I work on a bar, group of guys spent major money buying drinks all night. One guy spilled his shot and asked if id refill. I cheekily said no cause you guys havent tipped me all night.

Guy says "come on guys barman wants tipping" they all get their change made about £18 in total which i put into my barmans apron/pouch thing.

I gave him the shot.

Shortly after im pulled into the office saying a supervisor saw me give a drink away, then 2 door staff show up to search me. When i turn out my apron the manager said i shouldnt have money on me and he is "unhappy" with my explanation as to how i got it and is suspending me without pay pending a cctv investigation.

WTF i was just being a good barman the guys spend over £300 on drinks surely one £2.70 shot is ok? and tips are notmal for a barman?

What should i do?

Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

This is apparently an admission of guilt, see now i feel the relationship between me and the company is flawed and i clearly cant continue to work under those conditions. However refusing to meet with them or resigning is guilty by default.

******s now i got to go back having people talking about me, and face probably several supervisors i thought were friends and security and be grilled over my performance. This blows man self employment is the way forward i think!

This is abusive, and like jonsun said, they don't want you there.

You have two choices, walk away or piss them off by complaining to the proper government labor agency in your country.

Double Yes! Being a good barman is hard. You have to be polite, entertaining and able get people to stay. From your story you care about the tips, which could create a negative vibe on you. I don't know your story, but this could be the problem. Especially when you have a manager who is a target hunter.

I would say give them the finger and leave the work. Try to get the people who tipped you eventually on your side and try to get them to back up for you.

Maybe it is they just wanted an excuse because the guys that tipped me were still at the bar, i said look come with me to the bar they will tell you and he just said "no in sending you home".

Of course i care about the tips £5.80 an hour 6 hour shift £15 for a cab home, the tips make it worth it!

Either your boss or some on the staff who has his ear doesn't like you and was waiting for an opportunity such as this. Or the boss has had a history of young bartenders feeding their friends free drinks, so keeps his eyes on such behavior.

I can't tell if you deserved it or not because ppl who tell their side, neglect to tell the whole story or leave out the history of their behavior to garner sympathy. Only you truly know. I'm not familiar with the process for such matters in GB, in the US they could fire you on the spot. You could ask to resign quietly in return for a neutral or positive reference so you could work at another bar.

I'd say its time to move on.

Well you're in denial if you can't see that they were just waiting for an opportunity like this to get rid of you, especially if your integrity was never in question.

And if that is the case, then you should have no problem getting the labor board involved to sue them for wrongful dismissal.

I guess it depends on the case, but I know a few people who have had no issue getting retribution after wrongful dismissals.
