Re: Stop the USA from invading your computer privacy

ok, here we go again. . .the new way the US is trying to crack down on illegal activities via the net. This one is 100 times worse than anything they have thought of so far. This is a total invasion of privacy. We are talking spyware to find of you own illegal mp3's, movies, software, or use the internet for anything illegal. You will get heavily fined if you tamper with or remove it, plus time in prison. If you dont use it, you get fined. There is so much more to it, I strongly advise reading about it here
and to all you arrogant TA's that say this doesnt effect you, think again. Who builds your computers? Where does the processor come from? What country / company makes your operating systems?
Bill S2048 needs a swift death
read more about it here(same link as above)
sign the petition
I hate to introduce another kill this USA proposed bill thread, but this one needs a good spanking as well. Call your congress man/woman, sign the petition, and tell your friends. |
I signed it. There's NO way the Gov't will win! Why? there's always ways around things. First of all, people can just buy generic parts and build their own PC. Installing the software that want is a cinch. If the Gov't wants MS to install "special" Spyware into Windows, people'll just flock over to Linux, which is easy and can be just as good as Windows, if not, better! File-sharing's no problem because people'll just start using services which are based outside of USA or use services like Direct Connect, which can't be shut down because the private hubs aren't known to people outside of the "inner-circle" of people who use it. And of course, if all else fails, back to good ol' FTP! THAT will NEVER be stopped!
THE END (for now)!!!

This will never work. Even if they did put spyware into computers, they wouldnt be able to enforce it. I mean, everyone I know who has a computer has mp3's, illegal progs and whatnot, and Im sure it's the same for the rest of us. |
That's right, and programmes like Lavasoft's Ad-Aware will detect the Spyware and get it out of your PC. Lavasoft is based in Europe, where the "Policeware" can't be used. Many people use Ad-aware so, the "Policeware" won't affect them due to this. Plus, certain sites like www.astalavista.com and the www.box.sk hierarchy (sp?) (mods, if you want to take those sites out, you can) will tell you how to get rid of the spyware and never have it come back to ur PC.
