FL Studio 9 Note clips
Hi all,
Ive recently switched from Reason to fl studio 9 and im happy with with it, one thing thats becoming a problem.
I have a note clip for the main melody and i wanted to make a little variation. When i edit the clip it adds the new notes to all the clips. The only way i can see round this at the moment is making a new patten.
Any pointers most appreciated
Thanks

Use ReWire and keep Reason included in your setup.
Oh, hush Eddie, FL Studio isn't the toy you seem to think it is
Let me get this straight, when you make two patterns on one channel, all the notes from one pattern are added to another? I don't know how that's even possible

I don't give it enough credit, but it's done out of love...
For my Sonar 8.5!
I think he has a pattern which he is using as a loop and wants to make adjustments to just one loop segment without affecting the whole thing - if that's any help.
(FWIW - I don't have that problem in Sonar!) *laughs maniacally*
(And I was serious - that he should use Reason in conjunction with FL - and not because FL is inferior, which it's not, either. )

Yea that's the problem with FL (everything in FL is pattern based). You really shouldn't use it since you've already been using Reason. The point of switching is to upgrade, not to downgrade. Not to bash FL but it's definitely not a DAW you switch to, it's the DAW you start out with.

As a side note, I just don't use the playlist editor. I make the whole song on pattern one. And then put that pattern into the playlist editor for automation and such. Variations can be done in the piano rolls of the various channels you have.
