Israel just doesn't learn

First it was the fiasco with the Turkish ambassador, a deliberate public humiliation that made the entire world angry as hell. Now Israel is biting the very hand that feeds it? Why would anyone in Israel be so confident as to think they can publicly humiliate their best ally, the US, and get away with it?

Yet the U.S. will continue their full support as always for Israel. This just shows that Israel can do what it wants weather the U.S. government agrees with them or not. It is actually very scary.

And yet, Stallin and Hitler were allies when World War II started. They're both to blame for ransacking and raping all of Poland.

With regards to Turkey, they're now getting what they deserve. The US congress has recognized Turkey's brutal treatment of Armenia over 100 years ago. As a result, the Turkish ambassador to the US was asked back to Ankara. Later in the week the Swedish government also recognized Turkey's genocide of Armenians, and the Turkish Ambassador was called back to Turkey from Stockholm.
What happened with regards to Israel, the current Turkish administration is much more religious, and wants to be a regional player in the Middle East. It has become friendlier with Iran, it called off a joint military drill with Israel which has been going on for years, it started airing a bunch of anti-Jewish and anti Israeli shows on state television, and the prime minister several times spoke out against Israel. That's why there was later an incident with Turkey's ambassador to Israel, and that's why a lot of Israelis aren't flying to Turkey on vacation these days. So while Israel's economy is currently ranked one of the best in the world, Turkey's economy is hurting.


Most Washington politicians are pro-Israel so they're not upset over Israel's actions. If Washington doesn't find a way to come down hard on Iran in the next couple of months, Israel won't hesitate to take out Iran's nuclear arsenal. Seeing as how Iran's army is technologically far inferior to that of Israel, and seeing as how Israel has no problem going into Lebanon or Gaza if it's provoked, Iran's leaders stand to lose if they don't start cooperating with the West. Even Mahmoud Abbas yesterday came out blaming Iran on breaking up the fragile unity Egypt is mitigating between Hamas and the PLO.

And seeing as how Jerusalem is Israel's capital, I say kudos to Israel for building more housing units there for its large population.

Tel Aviv was Israel's capital. East Jerusalem was taken and annexed by Israel through war. Much of the international community doesn't even recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Really according to who? Israel? so you are all for them occupying more Palestinian land just because their population is growing?
what if lets say Lebenon starts occupying Israel for the same reason?would that be justified by you? Just curious..

Now now, facts have no place in this discussion. Israel can build, the Palestinians can STFU and die. Everyone's happy!

Jerusalem has always been Israel's capital, even prior to 1967. It was never in Palestinian hands, but for a couple of decades the eastern part of it was a part of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan, NOT owned by Palestinians. Those are the facts.

If Lebanon wants to start a war with Israel they best not be surprised if the outcome of it will be the annexation of all of southern Lebanon into Israel. That's how Syria lost the Golan heights in the first place.

Israel should definitely keep on building. It's not as if the Palestinians aren't building more homes as well.

Of course it was under Jordanian authority. There was no such thing as a Palestinian state. Additionally...

The only reason most countries pulled out their embassies from Jerusalem and relocated to Tel Aviv is due to pressure from oil-rich Gulf states. The Western world didn't want another gas crisis on its hands.

Since Israel sees Jerusalem as its capital, and most of its governmental facilities are based there, it is the capital of Israel. You don't have to recognize it, but then again groups like Hamas don't even recognize Israel's right to exist. On the other hand, slained Egyptian president Anwar Sadat came and gave a speech at the Knesset in 1977.
