Ok I do see what a lot of you are saying about the reverb. I do like though in tracks when you have an acid or any kind of bass swell for a nice reverb to tail after it.
But I don't need that much on the main basslines I def can see that.
Its hard because I have a feeling if I drop the reverb, YES it will bring a lot of the bass back to center, but then I'm going to have to make peace with the kick if I do that. Theres already a bit of sidechaining, I'm going to drop a lot of the reverb then play around with some equal. I think honestly my main mid bass needs more lower frequency though as opposed to less, cause after the kick hits the bass has no real punch to it (can be a layering issue to).
Oh well, so many things to consider. I think at least I have an idea how to create basic elements like drive & interaction, now I just need to focus more on my equal/compressing skills.
Thanks! I'm going to work on it more today and if I can really bring the bass sounds to center and get the mud out then I will most likely be doing a tut then. Most tuts I see are usually just a stagnant mid bass/sub and nothing else, so I *MAY be ahead of the game in that aspect. And I sampled this kick from mau "big kicks" pack, I like them cause they are a little denser sounding then vengeance imo, but at the same time they seem harder to mix. Will prob switch the kick around a few times too. Ok back to the lab..
