Anything that you have a true passion for, you will never be able to let go. For instance, I swam for 14 years, and toward the end of my competitive career, I hated it. However, there's still something about getting in that water and swimming again that brings it all back to me and makes me feel better about myself.
Same thing goes for music too, honestly there will be days where if I hear a 4x4 beat, I turn it off. I'd rather listen to silence than that. Other days, I will bang out the most intense shit that I own just because it's still a part of me.
Don't feel sorry for selling your equipment, it was a stage of your life that you temporarily grew out of. You might grow out of it again, who knows? But if I were you, hang onto things that matter to you as a person, even if your CDJ's collect mountains of dust and spiderwebs, you will still wanna get back on the decks eventually, even when you're 80
