Yeah i think i may have gotten the idea from you as well. |
Listening, now.
Definitely have the funky-beats, thing down. Very, very trippy. I like how you keep messing with the acoustic space. It has a very progressive feel.
First suggestion: After that slow arpeggiated lead comes in, I was wanting something more. It could be my own preference and if you're happy with the way it is, don't change it, but, to me, it felt like there was empty space, there. It should be something that's being hinted about, before hand, that almost expands its role in the mix as it unfolds, into the music.
Second suggestion: Again, could be a preference of mine and... yada, yada... Anyway, finesse the filter sweeps on the instruments. Do this only after you do anything else to the tune. If this particular suggestion dove-tails with the first, it's that those sweeps, where the instruments seem to be muted, feel like there making space for something which isn't there, yet.
Regardless, if you were to tell me that you'd tricked me and that it was a complete tune and you just wanted to see if anyone would notice its perfection, I'd probably take you at your word. As it is, it really is a nice little piece I could stand to listen to in my spare time. There's a lot of really cool ideas you have that push the envelope, in-so-far as technique is concerned along with the way they seem to be blended, seamlessly.
Nice job. Looking forward to the finished product.

This sounds quite nice. I like the drums in particular.
However, I agree with Eddie about the empty space. Maybe the main synth takes up a bit too much space, therefore making it hard to introduce new sounds.
The synths on their own are very nice, though. I definitely enjoyed this one. FWIW, I could imagine some scracthing working nicely here.
Good job. I've enjoyed your previous music, too!

Im happy you are positive about the drums, since they are kind of simple layered but yeah i like how they sound.

hmm, i like this and i there is alot of potential in this. i draw alot of connections of this to orbital and the hardkiss sound. i really like the rhythm and how you cut up that breakbeat. it's bold to use an element that it more aligned with uk broken beat sound than trance, and even trancy breaks.
the production is great, you have a grip on your sounds and the bassline is packing punch. i think the speed, the track just sounds too melodic at 100 bpm, but it does grow on you. but i would play this in a set, i would pitch it up to 125-135 and it sounds great at that speed aswell.
ye, other than that, i do like it alot. one final thing, i know this is wrong to rag on but the title is terrible.
edit, you should have a go at making a dubstep version of this. slow the track down to 70 bpm, strip the track a bit and reshape it, beef the drums a bit and boost the bass alot, and you have yourself something interesting. i slowed it down in traktor and mixed it with some other tracks and it sounded nice.
