Vengeance samples don't really sound out of date to me, still could be a lot of use for them. Wave alchemy has some nice sounds btw

wave alchemy have excellent sounds. Vengeance samples are a bit eew imo.. but I use them.. they work just fine.

As long as there has been no compression done to the sounds, it is goood. Find unprocessed samples when you are dealing with percussion.

@storyteller...avoid thomas penton sample cd's, he jacks samples from other sample libraries and them limits the crap out of them to make them sound usable. They sound good in the pre master mix, but once you master the mix, it sounds harsh and shit.

I disagree . BTW, what you're talking about is mostly the 3rd part. The 1st and second part have much less compression going on.

Have a look at some of the loopmasters stuff.

You can never have enough sample material.

Try looking at the smaller libraries and get lots of them rather than going for bigger libraries.

Also sample drum hits you like from your favourite tracks if you can isolate them and the noise floor is low enough. Alternatively use Waves tools etc to clean up the source files if you have to.
