And worse for him, it was all captured on video. The video from Sunshine State News shows St. Sen. Mike Bennett looking at a photo of four topless women on a beach. It happened last Thursday during a debate on an abortion bill. Ironically, as Bennett is looking at the photo, a Senator is debating, saying, "I'm against this bill because it disrespects too many women in the state of Florida." In Bennett's defense, he said he simply opened an innocent-looking email sent to him by a woman "who happens to be a former court administrator," Bennett said. "I was just sitting there, bored as they were debating the abortion bill," Bennett explained. "I opened it up and said 'holy [expletive]! What's on my screen?' And clicked away from it right away." Senate spokeswoman Jaryn Emhof expanded Bennett's defense. "There was some confusion about an email he received," she said. "He thought it was an email about an item being debated on the Senate floor. As soon as he realized it wasn't he closed the page." It is unclear how long the image was on Bennett's screen before the camera started rolling, but the video shows it was up for at least three seconds before Bennett clicked off. Bennett said he would never watch porn on the Senate floor. "You'd have to be insane to do that. It all goes through a server. I don't think anybody would be doing that." Bennett also watched video of a dog shaking water off of itself.
