Problem w/ Massive... incld Video

why would massive behave differently if the track in ableton was armed vs not. like the automation in massive (just automating lfo times) is drastically behaving differently... scratchin my brain her, i own massive, i'm on the most updated vers etc

sometimes, when a track is armed, some sort of delay gets introduced which can throw timings right off. Doesn't happen with every vst but does happen with some - the virus ti for example.

Armed means recording mode, right?

It's because delay compensation can't compensate for live recording on the spot.

yeah, live seems to toss a huge amount of delay onto anything thats record armed. Very annoying as it will throw your tempo synced lfo's etc right off.

Perhaps you could post a quick link with an audio example of what the two different behaviours sound like? Resample it by routing the output of one channel to another audio channel.

Also, make sure you're using the latest version, and look into the way the new version syncs to host tempo. Also check the NI forums for info. I've noticed that generally ableton and NI kit doesn't really play nicely together. Tend to get a lot of sync issues especially.

that's just it, i can't resample because i have to keep massive ARM'd, when i go to record it erases my midi clip. i'll have to render offline, see what it does

edit: just FYI i designed an entirely original patch while having the track ARM'd (i was playing notes, playing w/ pitch bends etc) but when i take it off it sounds not even remotely similar. when i get back in the studio tonight i'll show you guys, i just hope it renders ok else i'm going to cry

ive had problems like that when recording myself playing a vst on a midi track - what happens on some synths is that random automation is put into the actual midi clip itself - check that if you havent already

Um... yeah, you can arm more than one track at a time, so arm massive's track, set the input of another track to resample the massive track and then resample two samples showing us the difference.

Or just use a screen capture program

Can you just solo the massive track so we can hear it properly? Sounds like maybe a buffer problem but hard to tell without it solo'd...

it's overwriting the automation when i do, i've been rendering it offline and it's working but a pain in the ass
