Just got a VESTEX 275 Mixer and hooked it up and realized with just the mixer on and nothing else I can hear a faint radio station playing in the headphones? Our phone line has a radio station in the back round but I dont' know if that has anything to do with it. Somebody tell me something. I have absolutly no clue what is going on.

Are the speaker wires you're using shielded? Unshield wires pick up foreign frequencies.

Unshield wire is #1 reason why you hear unwanted radio frequencies. Make sure all your wires are shielded.

Actually I think they are shielded. I have narrowed the problem down has to be between my amp and speakers. Could the problem be that each of my speaker cables are 25ft a piece?

yeah dude, a long unshielded cable like that will act as a massive antennae, you know like the shitty little wire ones you get with mini hi-fi's. If youve got the cable coiled up too, unravel it and lay it in a straight line, preferably not along side any mains cables.
As for picking up noise, my decks or mixer picks up the police radio, which is shit cos i live overlooking the most busiest part of the centre of my town, and there's ALWAYS fight and police being called. So no midnight and after club mixtapes for me

do you have your mixer hooked up to a personal stereo??? sometimes even if put in the input only of the stereo ..sometimes ull get feedback if its cheap stereo
