Actually, I was pensive for hours on end after watching Battle Royale. Most people think it's egregiously funny, I found it so angsty and deep I cried myself to sleep in foetal position that night as I listened to Schubert...

dunno about crazy/lulz, but Takashi Miike has done some awesome movies with the Dead or Alive- (no, has nothing to do with the video games) series
