What you should probably do first and foremost is check out the demos of the main DAWs (sequencers)as this will be the main host for your music. It's a tough road to be honest and the learning curve is steep.

You don't have to use logic but it is a good application without a doubt.

If you are going down the hardware route then be prepared to spend a lot of money, and VSTs may be a better option. There is a heck of a lot of good free stuff out there for trance. You may want to try the Genesis VST. Since I picked that up I love it.

those are all good sequencers or complete packages that can get you started.
If you are looking for a good out of the box solution then maybe Reason is a good place to start. It has everything built in and is perfectly capable of giving you pro results once you learn how to use it.

It all depends on what you are bringing with you to the table i.e. what experience do you have?

I picked up Fruityloops several years ago as mine. And thought "Once I conquer this software, I'll move on to something more pro." But I haven't used anything else since then. Probably because I'm intimidated by the fact that getting used to a new DAW will take me time. But having your head wrapped around one of them, I'm sure it's easier to do it on other DAWs too.

If you're an absolute beginner, I'd recommend FL Studio. But it's your choice.
I think you can get those "pro-results" with any DAW, if you use it right.

In example Primo Lux - The Wall was done with FL Studio, and you can check if it's pro or not.

Ouch. Although I do agree that you shouldn't get into it if your goal is to make something like what "dj tiesto" has his name on in under five years. Meaning everything you make will sound aweful for several years.

Start with something simple. A lot of beginners go with FL Studio or Reason since they're pretty all-inclusive. Many will then migrate to DAWs like Logic or Cubase, although many excellent trance tracks have been done in FL Studio and Reason.

I say to start simple because creating trance music is NOT easy and do not think for even a second that it is. Also never forget that you are creating MUSIC. If you do not want to bother learning the foundations of music and melody ("music theory"), stick to techno or some forms of house.
