Trance Lead
Hey Guys,
Pretty new to producing and just working on a lead melody for a track. Iv been using logic's ES2 for the lead melody with a tweaked version of the 'Big Trance Now' preset. But the sound is very classic and I cant seem to get enough presence out of it...
Just wondering if anyone would have any tips for trying to get a lead sound that say Sophie Sugar, Alex M.O.R.P.H or Jorn Van Deynhoven may use in their tracks.....Maybe I should be using some other effects or using a different VST such as Sylenth or Predetor ?
If could guide me to somewhere on the forum or have any tips would be a massive help..
Cheers !

Since someone will say it anyway, I'll go ahead and say it. It's much easier to help you if you post a sample of the sound you're getting right now. No one can help if no one knows where you're at, you know?

thicken it until it can't take it anymore with reverb and delay and then cut the reverb and delay tail off so all you have is a very dense and extremely "chorus" type lead

Awesome guys, yeh it was sounding awful in the mix, and I tried my best to EQ it to fit in but still didnt have enough bite.......but iv layered it with another lead, a more SAW type lead from a different synth and its sounding ok now in the mix.
Still not as chunky as id like but yeh Pagan/Stephen ill work on the delay and reverb more possibly like you've said, the chourus type sound is wat Im looking for but I wasnt able to get it by just adding chorus.

There's a part in there where he talks about laying the lead. He has 8 layers for the lead. They all sound different, but they all work together.

Layer it again, but with a longer attack and wide reverb, also maybe shift the notes a bit back, so the sound comes in later and slower.
