Ableton Live 8 solid enough for production?

They have a deal going on right now(get a free partner instrument pack), and I have my eye(ear!) on one of the acoustic piano partner instruments.

I just want to use it for production work, not necessarily live stuff. I am running XP service pack 3, I wonder if it'll be stable enough?

Yes, its spot on, been using live for about 4yrs now on the same set up and Iv never had any problems with it.. Try it out, ableton.com/downloads a think it only restricts you by not letting you save any projects so other than that its the full retail version

It would absolutely be stable. Although I currently run it on Windows 7, I used to run it on Windows XP SP2 and it ran great. It would be a great buy especially with what they're offering right now.
