Mobo question

So I bought a new laptop and it should be getting shipped to me soon but i'm at a dilema. I am thinking of canceling it and just ordering something from newegg, The mobo on the one I ordered is a 740G chipset. I did some research and it seems its really old tech.
Will I run into many problems with this mobo? I was thinking of changing the mobo but Id have to change the whole thing from what I understand although i'm not too good with computers.
The rest of the specs are AMD Phenom II quad core 4gb ram 2mb L2cache
I am getting the feeling it will not work too good and am thinking I am wasting money by getting it..
Thanks to whoever can help.

changing motherboards on a laptop seems like tricky business if you ask me. it should be good enough to support the CPU, RAM, HD and Graphics included though.

yea thats why i dunno if i should just cancel it and put the extra 100 or 2 for a good mobo. Apparently from what i read with this chipset the processors will run at 1 ghz which is shit no? Some people were saying its pointless to run a quad core on that chip.
Also hypertrasnport is at version 1.0 instead of 3.0 unless its a updated version of the chip which i doubt. It just sucks there trying to cut corners with from what i understand a major part in how a comp will run...

well i mean at first i was happy with it but then 2 people told me to make sure what kinda mobo it was. I'm just scared since its old technology. My old laptop was dual core and 2gb ram and it did pretty good but i have no clue what mobo was in it lol

Intel is better than AMD. The only thing you need to worry about for the motherboard is whether it has the right ports and the correct RAM configuration for the processor. Which it probably does.

motherboards in laptops are pretty much sorted for you, you don't really need to worry.

But I'd look at getting a quad core i7 and USB three if you haven't already. The setup you have looks a bit suss on first glance IMO.
